The South East has been in a major drought this summer and fall. Which meant that the only whitewater kayaking in the South East were the recreational dam releases, thank God for those releases, or we all would have went stir crazy for sure.
I was able to jump on the Ocoee for the last weekend of the scheduled release. It was awesome to see so many kayakers out on the water at once, it was so busy you would have thought it was GauleyFest out there.
I also got to take out and try the new Jackson Kayak Antix. WOW. What a blast. This boat did everything I wanted, I could boof, surf, kick flip, splat, loop, squirt, squirt and squirt some more. I honestly couldn’t have had any more fun, it was incredible. I can’t wait to get this new Antix out on some more runs.
